Hi All,
Without warning, my MM bongo got very noisy. the hiss comes out of it and with 2 new batteries installed, it got only lauder
Does anyone experienced the same before? and what is the possible reason for it?
Thank you.

O, yes Sir,
I have it tried on Laney, Galien K. and through the M-Audio external Audio card with 3 different quality cables. I also checked connectors in the cavity. the guitar lives in the hard case, haven't been under rain or dropped. Just after recording the new song, the sound engineer told me that the bass line got a lot of hiss. It was dead quiet 2 days ago and today, it sounds like ampeg's tweeter (white noise)

At the risk of asking an idiotic question, is the treble or high-mid knob turned all the way up on the Bongo preamp?

At the risk of being as idiotic as Oldtoe, I have to ask the same question.

The question you ask is totally fine. any help is greatly appreciated. the interesting part is that I keep mids to defaults and when I add mids the hiss get lauder and when I add bass/treble it is starting to sound like the jet engine.:(

Man I'm sorry I know this is off topic and english may not be your language, but it's "louder" .

Back on topic, maybe a piece of debris is making contact across the lead points on the treble pot which would essently make it seem like your treble was all the way up. A long shot but easy to check. Remove the back plate and give it a look.

At the risk of being as idiotic as Oldtoe and Lord Bovine, is the volume on the Bongo cranked up all the way?

If so, please dial it back to about 60-75%, re-EQ and see how things are.

If not, please call EBMM Customer Service.
