I'm not sure if this is of any significance, but my 2003 Axis (serial DOB Feb, 2003) has 'premium' written in the neck pocket which apparently was an option that is no longer available to have a premium top. Again I could be wrong, but thats the information I got. If someone knows, then let me know!

Great stuff guys - now this is developing into the kind of thread I first envisaged.

I'm no expert on the history of some of the EB guitars - but Iknow that there are people out there with that knowledge.

So if those guys could do a quick narrative using their field of expertise, then this thread could turn into a real humdinger?

Something recent.
When the 25th became the Reflex in 2010, I believe 10 were made with figured tops for their introduction at the 2010 Dallas Guitar Show. Please correct me if I’m wrong.

2 - Purple Quilt top
2 - Green Quilt top
2 - Natural Quilt top
2 - Blue Flame top
2 - Black Flame top

Spud, my sincere thanks for doing such a great job putting the shots of my Silhouettes on here, your hard work has certainly saved me from a severe technophobia-induced headache! The end results make me wish I had photos of a few more of them, so rest assured you'll be the first to know when someone again points a camera in the direction of my collection.

Dusty I really feel for you since that is all you have and it is a shame your Balls are made up of one offs and rarities, keep your chin up maybe it will get better-lmfao! Seriously you have us all green with envy, just beautiful guitars and that last Silo Dudley made for you has one of the best necks I have ever seen.

Slav you sure have a knack for landing some of the best quilt tops I have ever seen, swimming pools of color! I have never seen Honey Burst in person but it is an enigma of a color, as some of them look close to a regular tobacco burst finish and some look like a picture of the surface of the sun. What is the real deal with that finish Slav do some of them differ drastically or does a flash photo give it that effect and what is the finish like in regular lighting.

Keith/Jeff why oh why!

Straycat, I really appreciate sympathy from a fellow single-finger key tapper, and such encouragement helps to ease my particular stress and strain! But it certainly wasn't my intention to boast, it's just that I seem to have lucked in to various oddball or unusual examples, often selling at figures that made it hard to say no, so I didn't! For instance, the pink and yellow Eagles were offered to me on the same day, completely unexpectedly, from opposite ends of the UK, and naturally I couldn't turn either down!

Over here the Silhouette has unfortunately never enjoyed a particularly prominent profile, with interest and prices to match, so it's been comparatively easy to amass quite a collection of great but affordable guitars, made all the better by the addition of the occasional one-off. However, this selection also includes some 'standard' Silhouettes and a pair of these has provided stirling service on the road for many years, while I tend to keep the rarer ones for 'Sunday best' playing scenarios. I obviously share your opinion concerning my latest custom and I can confirm that it feels, plays, sounds and even smells as good as it looks. In fact, could be that I can finally stop collecting, which will come as welcome but warily received news to my long-suffering wife and offspring!

This is really super, awesome stuff! Never before have i seen these guitars with this 80's colors, especially the ''hair metal'' pink, and yellow fluorescent. But were these guitars at first stocked with EMG's?! And what is whit the White Eagle logo imprint!? :)

I guess I'll post my new baby in here. MIAC Silhouette Special. Only 30 made. Maple board in vintage white. This was pre-compensated nut though, but its ok. After a set up played like a dream!

Each are hand signed and numbered by BP. Came with the tweed case too!

For the record. I approved the making of the guitar for Dusty as a favor for Alan Rogan a dear friend of the company who has always taken very good care of us. Also The Factory made the guitar. After being written out of the history of Music Man by Dusty I wasnt excited to make anything special. When you bust your ass and hard earned dollars and then the self proclaimed expert writes you out.....you may understand how I feel and will continue to feel.

BTW thanks for the thank you note.........(Maybe the mail is slow)
