The battery's for the preamp. :D

Doh!

Thanks for waking me, Sam! :) I can't believe I forgot about the preamp! Well, until my Dargie Bongo arrives, I'm without an EBMM bass for reference... That's my cop-out and I'm sticking to it! :D

chiming in again...........

....not sure what else to add, "waa-waa-wee-waa" kind of sums it up!

I don't even want to guess at what the Sterling5 and Bongo6 (ooo, that looks kinda kooky like that) are going to be. this 20th anni. SR5 IS FREAKIN' UNREAL BP!!! absolutely exciting and fresh not only for the MM family of basses but for basses in general. Classic lines but nuts stuff goin' on under the hood...er, bridge...

BTW, BP, did Beth and Kevin share any of the Cadbury chocolate bars or Smarties with you yet??

:D :D :D

Also I know that some of you are going to go crazy and some will be lukewarm and the lukewarm will probably get used to it especially after they hear the punchy tone block.

I cannot repeat Dargin's vocabulary during his telephonic review of what this sucker sounded like when they fired it up.

It was, how you say, mostly very positive, heh heh.

Just looking at what's been incorporated and the work that's going into each one of these, the woods, the finish...I would expect these are going to be somewhat more expensive than the 30th Stingrays.

Boys, I have no idea how I'm going to swing it - it may require selling the child for medical experiments, taking a hard look at what basses are expendable, selling my frilly things on eBay - but I think this is going to be the definitive Stingray 5.

(Especially if the 30th SR4 was any indication, and I suspect it was.)

Schwing!

I do believe one of the unlisted ingredients in the "other goodies" is what is going to ultimately drive one of those beauties into my hot little hands. As if the rest of the bass weren't stunning enough.

Wow.

Erica's would probably fetch quite a bit more.

And I got to play with NorM's twins the other night. I ain't no guitarist but I was smitten. NorM as well. He may be a little slack around these parts due to work and a certain wedding coming up.
