One of the wiser people I know on this board submitted this holiday greeting last year. I have been waiting all year to bring this back around as I feel it is still appropriate. "Yall are the greatest bunch of people and I mean that from the bottom of my heart."

mbgreene said:
Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit, my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low stress, non-addictive, gender neutral celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasion or secular practices of your choice, with respect for the religious/secular persuasions and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all;"

PLUS
"A fiscally successful, personally fulfilling, and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year, but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make America great, (not to imply that America is necessarily greater than any other country or is the only "AMERICA" in the western hemisphere), and without regard to the race, creed, color, age, physical ability, religious faith, choice of computer platform, or sexual orientation of the wisher."
Disclaimer: This greeting is subject to clarification or withdrawal. It implies no promise by the wisher to actually implement any of the wishes for her/himself or others and no responsibility for any unintended emotional stress these greetings may bring to those not caught up in the holiday spirit.

And... Oh By Golly Have a Holly Jolly Christmas This Year :)

I hope you all have happier holidays than I will with my inlaws... having to sit around and listen to the most intimate details of my 39 year old sister in law's multiple attempts at artificial insemination just knock the festive spirit right out of me. and I'm not allowed to get hammered at christmas anymore because last year I apparently answered my 8 yr old nephew's question "uncle ripley: what's in-semamation?" be explaining how they do it to cows on my father's family's dairy farm. the child was allegedly emotionally scarred because I held up the turkey baster and loudly proclaimed, "... see, timmy... it's something like THIS...."

here's to a conscious, wide awake, sober christmas full of talk about insurence companies, hospital bathrooms and and why everybody "needs" a 4x4 GMC suburban. arf. :D

Happy Holidays to everybody!!!!!!! Hope you all have a great, safe Christmas and New Years!!!!!!!!!!

Feliz Navidad, I hate that song. That song should be banned from ever being played again during the Holidays. I was at the post office waiting on line and that stupid song came on. I thought I was going to go POSTAL............
