Hoping to meet some forum peeps in the area... we (Bipolar Echo) just booked a gig at The Whiskey on November 26th. We start at Midnight... I have no idea how we got such a great time slot. lol The crowd will get an eyefull of three JPs and a Luke!

Also, we just uploaded our two new songs (and some pretty stinking pretty cool pics of the recording sessions) on our facebook and reverbnation pages (with myspace, soundcloud, jango, and all the digital distribution sales stuff to come as soon as they get it put up.)

Feedback always welcomed...

In the meantime, Los Angeles area forumers sound off... maybe we'll see you there and can chat all things JP, DT, and MM.

since it is Thanksgiving weekend, we were just able to get enough time for everyone in the band to be there on Saturday. I'll be there either Wednesday afternoon, or Thursday morning, depending on when we leave. Some things have developed with publishing and KROQ radio staff so we just wanted to get over there and get acclimated to the speed and pace and make our faces visible for those who might be watching behind the scenes.

Oddly enough though, for those of us who are going early, Hermosa was one of the beaches we were talking about visiting.

Just watched your vid on FB - very nice. The guitar 'weave' wonderfully. Catchy use of chromatics in the octave stuff. I booked marked your MySpace, thanks.

Wow, thanks JMD!

And... I just realized you posted links Paranoid. Thanks much, I will look into that. If we get invited back to the Whiskey, we'll probably try to schedule more gigs, either while there, or on the way. That one looks excellent.

I too am loving your sound.

Great power and a strong sense of melody.

Turning it up as I type!

Excellent stuff there! Just in the middle of visiting your FB page and listening to the tunes - totally dug Barbie Doll - love the guitar work in that song - unashamedly right in my face - just the way I like it! Nice. Good luck with the big gig. Awesome stuff, man.

thanks for the replies and compliments... this dropped down and I missed them at first. If anyone here can for sure make it out that night, shoot me a PM and I'll get your names and make sure you have tickets at the door.

The EP "What I Thought" was all Mesa Boogie DC3 through a Carvin Legacy 412. All dry except for the cleans had a Keeley compressor on the front, and there are several bits with a Fulltone Mini Deja Vibe on the song "Weird Days." Oh, and I used a RMC Wizard Wah on "Barbie Doll." Other than that, not even a boost pedal.

The two new songs "Watch Me Fly," and "Fade Away" are mostly a Mesa Roadster. All backing tracks, in fact, are the dry Roadster. The solos are my DC3... all dry except for the Whammy on Fade. Jacob did some doubled a line here or there and did a couple of overdubs on his Mesa Mark III. I played my JPX7 on all rhythm tracks, and my JP6 BFR for all leads and solos. Jacob played his standard JP7 for his rhythms and some doubled bits, and I think he played the Luke on one overdub.
