Heh heh, look at those knobs!

It doesn't look too bad as a natural, but the job looks a bit amateurish.

Wouldn't that have to have a different preamp than the original since it doesn't have the stacked eq knobs?

It has a H and a S Tom.

If it were a single H I would buy it and paint it white.

Interesting....I may have to investigate that one as it is up the road from me. I will not pay that price and make sure to see what kind of pricing I can get. I would sport that in a minute....but....I am known to walk to the beat of a different bongo. ;)

I just e-mailed them...so, we'll see.

I guess that dark streak between the pickguard and preamp is the reason Bongos don't come in trans colors.

I guess that dark streak between the pickguard and preamp is the reason Bongos don't come in trans colors.

At the very least, it explains why that specific piece of Basswood wouldn't be used on a trans color instrument.

If I am not mistaken, I attempted to buy this Bongo over a year ago from Craig's List, but the seller flaked before I cold close the deal. If so, it's definitely had the preamp swapped out.

It looks like the perfect guilt free bass to have refinished in the non-standard color of your choice. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't considered having a Bongo refinished.
