As the guy with the picture of Eric Cartman painted on his pickguard...I welcome you to the offenders club. Absolutly great job on the replica build...you are a skilled individual. Don't leave...sit down and have some chocolate-chicken pot pie, and enjoy yourself.

welcome scotti!!

great work on the bass mate.. looks sweet dude!

you can easily rectify yourself against the purists by purchasing a Bongo!!!! woo!!! :D

i have "another" bass i've never talked about on here, its a locally built masterpiece* but think some of the guys points are that EBMM pay for this site and we have to repect that by not talking about non EBMM gear.

I think you'll fit in just grand though mucker! Great tribute to a great bass!
I have a softspot for anything created with care and attention to detail

*never to be confused with my one and only love for Barbarella!!

I love how you even used the same font for the lettering. If you put that much detail into the lettering, the rest of that bass must be awsome. I'd love to hear a sound clip.

Great Job

As has been said many times on this post it's a replica not a copy. It pays tribute to the 'entire' original design.

As it appears your a pilot maybe you'll understand the analogy of why some homebuilt planes sport similar US airforce livery but clearly are not airforce craft? They're replicas of the real deal. Have a look at Thunder Mustang Home Page for examples.

Nicely done, though the maple does look kind of, ahem, less-than-perfect:)
Doo you use a Stewmac dual action rod, or a single action?

Hi Mate

It's a Dual Rod from Stewmac. Yep I agree the maple was not top drawer but it's all I could get (rubbish excuse but true!)

This is an interesting one. Because it is built for personal use and not to sell, and because it is identified as a replica built by someone other than EBMM, it actually is OK.

If it were to be put on E-Bay though, people might be confused because it looks so much like the real thing, and that would not be OK, disclaimer or not.
