how did that go over, did you continue the song without him? what was the reaction you guys got from the audience after that?

guitarist/singer looked at me, I looked at him, and we continued playing.
We finished the song, albeit a bit shorter than usual, but finished we did. Also helped that we had a good keyboardist who added some fills.

It was a semi private bash, and attendees were pretty lit by this time. I don't know if anyone knew a cluster f*ck just occurred. At least I never heard any comments as such. Though my bandmates heard comments from me, afterwards.

I just noticed #200 post. I'm a senior fart. Woooot! :)

This is happens a lot, I never understood why someone would want to perform drunk.

There's a great Family Guy segment about this, the drunks think they sound great on stage and the audience is "What the f***???".

omg, just watched the youtube version (thanks KennetB for the link)

I cant drink and play. Its like drinking and driving - it just does not mix.

Anytime I have a get together at my house...ultimately my friends want me to start playing at some point...but they usually don't get around to asking me to play until after I've already had 4 or 5 beers!!

It just doesn't work. They call out requests ,and we have a good time...but I feel like I can't play at all...and I've been playing for 25 years.

Anyway, the drummer talked up this huge talk to me, yet he was horrible, only knew one pattern. Not only that, but he noodled around in practice while I was trying to show something to someone, or if we were talking about how we were going to do something. To make it worse, he never made any effort to get better, even when he knew the guys around him were serious. If I tried to talk to him about anything regarding him needing to practice or do something different, he just gave me a blank stare and nodded his head "uh huh" over and over,

You just described a lot of drummers.

My friendsupposed to open for the band Leeway at Studio One in NJ and the drummer cancelled day of show because he had to go see Alanis Morissette with his girlfriend or she would be mad at him. WTF?!?! needless to say, they were banned from that club.
