Hey guys,

I've had my mm axis ss semi hollow for a few months now and love it. It plays amazingly and has excellent tone. However the bridge pickup just doesn't seem hot enough for songs I play w heaven distortion. Like stp meat plow or crackerman for example. I'm coming from a strat w a Duncan hot rails in the bridge which imo is much hotter than the stocker in my axis.

Has anyone put in a hotter dimarzio hum bucker in the bridge of the axis semi hollow? Any suggestions? Was looking at the deactivators and crunch lab but not too familiar w the dimarzio pickups other than the stocks on the ss. Which I do love. Just not enough for the heavy. Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Looking at X2Ns and D Activators now. However i've read that maybe raising the height of the pickup will help get more output.....

Wow, you don't often hear that that pickup lacks output. It's hot and middy.

Yes, I would start by putting small piece of foam underneath to raise it up a bit. That will make a big difference.
