OK, here's the story, the Sterling arrived in tune! Took her to the jam and it was still in tune! I got to play a great set and everyone was ohhhing and ahhhing over how pretty it is, and it is beautiful! I love these basses!!!:D

I drank way too much; many people won't see me till after the dreaded birthday, so it was party time. But I told everybody about BP's idea and everyone agreed to do something nice for someone else. Thanks BP and all of you wacky forumites!

This Sterling is my main player! Not to say I’ll sell my black one, but she is going to have a nice vacation for a while! Did I say I love these basses??? :D

Yeah, yeah, blah blah blah, but dude, you have to fix this mess you've made with these completely unrealistic promises.

Well I know it’s going to be hard, but I’m going to try! Larry really inspired me with the weight issue, (did you know there are no XXXL StingRay shirts?)

The drinking, while fun as it is, has to stop. My doctor is all over my butt on the booze, and yes I’ve tried different doctors, they all sound like a broke record. (Do the kids even know what a record is?) The smoking will be the easiest for me, I already haven’t had cigar in three weeks. But when I’m out of the country the Cubans will be hard to resist.

I really want to give it a shot and I may fail, I’ve failed before. You didn’t see me getting a Grammy, the Nobel people haven’t contacted me, they found a new Maytag man and I’m not the President, (I couldn’t afford the cut in pay anyway…)

The down side of losing weight though is that if I ain’t fat my nude pictures won’t be funny anymore; it was the fat that was funny.

… what if I sober up and wonder where all these basses came from?

The worst part of quitting anything is the anticipation and expectation leadng up to it.
I will give you more unsolicited advice. When people off offer you a cocktail or cigar instead of saying you cant drink...say I dont smoke or dont drink...
Nobody likes cant but dont makes it their choice

I quit drinking for a weekend in late August and am still on the wagon...Long weekend. . FLipped the switch...told everybody that was giving me a hard time that Easter I was stage diving off the wagon.....GOt em off my backs but when Easter came and went and I was still sober they are back on me. I will drink someday I just dont know when Actually at my club the new drink is the Big Poppa....Mineral water a splash of cranberry an orange slice and a lime wedge....People think you are drinking and so do you....

BP I should have mentioned that you were also an inspiration in the drinking department; I’ve kept a keen eye to see if you were still abstaining. I always appreciate your advice unsolicited or not. And as always, great advice it is, I’ll use the “don’t” concept for sure!

The bartender at my local jam always has a Bud ready for me when I walk in. Last night I told her to be ready for a different beverage next week, I’ll have to come with a “Psycho”, something like a Diet Coke, lots of ice and lime…. and one of those umbrella things.

Well, enough "Psycho Babble" for today. :D

Okay, if you really want to believe that... :D

I think a skinny guy with pale white skin, a cowboy hat, farmer's tan on the arms, wearing tighty whities and boots while posing with a bass is still pretty funny!

I mean, it's not bald-midget-proctologist-with-no-teeth funny, but I digress.. :D
