I went into The 12th Fret to see my buddy Mike. I was there to order an Axis SS. Then I saw her on the wall. She seduced me. She begged me to touch her. :p :p . I tried the HoneyBurst Axis SS and bought her on the spot. Suffice it to say I'll will be ordering another soon.

Hey Fogman, to second what Beth says, Get in touch with Glen. Mike and him go back a ways and Mike says he is a really cool guy. He'll set you up.

Bought my first one off the wall at a store in Mississauga (after receiving important info from one of our forum members), and bought the second right here from another forum member in Florida!

once upon a time........

In 1999 I got back into gigging, bought me a Clapton Strat to start off. One day I saw an ad for the Wolfgang in a mag. I went to my local music store to ask about it and maybe order one. My friend at the store said that I should go with the EBMM Axis because it was originally the EVH and that EBMM makes way way better guitars than Peavy. I want green, not offered anymore sos I orders me a blue one, but the 3-4 month wait, arghh!!!!

So I start looking on eBay and bid on a Red Axis. I lose but someone writes me and says, I saw you bidding, blah, blah, blah, 950 shipped for his mint Red Axis. So I send him a check. A couple of weeks later I have my first EBMM in hand. I was blown away! To end the sory, when my ordered Axis arrives, guess what, it ain't blue it's green, Jackpot!

Ernie. That's a cool story. Do you still have that first Axis? As a symbolic moment!

Got my JP6 through Pete, and I'll likely use him in the future for any other EBMMs I buy (and there WILL be more..) :D

Speaking of which, I have new photos of the JP:

I've been wanting to try out a MusicMan for a long time, but I'm one of those that want to try it before I buy it kinda guys and have been pretty happy with the guitars I currently own so driving miles out of my way (through hell traffic) to tryout something I may or maynot like seemed like a stupid idea.

The nearest MM dealer that actually stocked a MM guitar that I could actually touch (Guitar Center is close by, listed as a dealer, but does not actually stock ANY MusicMan guitars) was 45 miles away or so (about a 2 hour drive - Brandon FL to Seminole FL). I found myself at work at a clients location maybe 20 minutes from Seminole one day and decided to take my lunch break driving over to test drive a MM guitar. Ended up the 30 minutes later owning a Steve Morse MM guitar. I would have probably owned one years earlier if somebody closer (ie, Guitar Center) ACTUALLY STOCKED ONE!

Yep, but I sold the green one during the great purge of my EBMM collection. Actually it was a "reweighing" from EVH's and Axisisisisis to Pet's.

Got mine off the wall at Guitar Center. They had two in stock, I think someone bought the other just before I got there, so the one I got spent maybe a couple days on the wall, at most :)

Mine was also the last Petrucci model I've seen stocked in the St. Louis area since then. I was lucky.

I got mine from Guitar Center here in Escondido, CA.
They had four Axis SS in stock, two Maple and two Rosewood.
Man it was tough to decide, but I ended up taking a Rosewood home.
What a fabulous guitar!

Edit: The front panel says JCM 25/50 Model 2554.
Let me know if you don't have the manual - I could scan it in.
Also when I bought it I had 2 anniversary mug coasters!

Both on E-Bay. My EB Steve Morse was in like new condition. My JPM6 had a broken truss rod and was cheap. Sent it to EB for a new neck. Still cheaper than both the new and used ones I have seen. Bought both without playing the model before. I was not dissappointed. Just have to know what you are looking for and do a little homework before pushing that bid button.

First one was bought used on eBay. Since them, many more come and gone via eBay.

I've also ordered and bought new, and bought from friends.

Remember that dude I told you about, Glen Booth? Give him a shout! He'll dig sumpin' up for ya.

Foggy- I've spoken to him on a few occasions for products that he reps (not just EB stuff) and he's been a big help. Seems like a pretty solid dude.
