At the end of last evening rehearsal, I noticed that my beloved JP6 had a flake of paint missing...

I knew about that large dent on the front bottom countour. I don't remember how I had managed to make it but I had noticed like a year ago that my JP had a large scratch but never tought... The paint would fall off...

Tried to find the chip of paint after the rehearsal but could not.

Anyway, don't worry guys... I,m not calling for sympathy... No need to cry or feel depressed... I'm not a collector or reseller, I bought my JP6 to play it. And it's the one getting the most mileage of all the guitar I own! And will still be!!!

fixed some chips on my MD JP6 with black paint - looks ok. Well better than showing the base coat/wood any way.

You're taking it really well, I would be crying like a baby. Might be worth stabilizing it around the chip just to prevent it getting worse? Unless you plan on going for the full 'heavy relic' look!

The first mark hurts the most...it gets easier.

Here's a Steve Stevens model I spent some time with...about 15 years, but it's retired now.

I'd probably put some crazy glue around the edges of the chip to keep it from peeling further.

By the way, I'd rather see a guy playing a guitar with chips and scratches than hanging pristine in someone's parlor room never touched or played!

I'm the same way. My white jp6 is starting to go a little yellowish and has a few chips on it. For some reason the older and more worked it gets the more I love it. As I get older and get more wrinkles I'd say its just adding character and hope the wife loves it?! But the first one is always the hardest it gets easier from here on out.

It's hard to buy new instruments because I don't want to chip them. but once that first chip is there... BAM it's easier to add it to the gigging arsenal.

Ladt evening I found the paint chip in my guitar case. Used some wood glue and now hoping it will hold.
