How do I get an avatar that small?

I have pics that I would like to use but I can't figure how to get them small enough to use for an avatar on this board? Help please?

There's a number of programs out there that will get the job done. Photoshop, etc.

Open up the pic you want with IrfanView.
Press CTRL+R to go to the resize settings box. Enter the dimensions you desire and press OK. Done and done!
