I have a AX40 and want to lower the action. It has a quarter inch between the strings and the fretboard, by the pick up. I think that is to much gap. I want to get some input on how to lower the actoin.

First you need to make sure that your relief on the neck is correct. That could be leading to a higher action in the center of the neck. If that is correct, than you can adjust the saddles under each string using a feeler gauge and a allen wrench

the action is adjusted by raising or lowering the 2 outside posts. Use a 3mm allen key to adjust the action.

the individual saddles cannot be individually adjusted for height.

Totally agree about checking the neck relief first and make the sure the neck is adjusted straight.

What they said.

I just dropped the bridge a bit (my action wasn't as high as yours) and it was good to go.

Definitely check the neck. Mine was ok.
