hi guys, just ordered my first real JP (got tired of borrowing my brothers), can't wait for it to get here (thanks pete!).

but my question was...

if you've ordered a guitar, what strategies do you employ to help take your mind off of the guitar you have to patiently wait for while its being made?

Random anonymous sex with multiple partners :D
or
Comfort in the knowledge that you will shortly be receiving the best production guitar your money can buy.

Other than that you'll pretty much be jonesing for a while :)

The open house is a nice distraction :) its pretty much smack in between the day i ordered my new HS Sterling and the guesstimated arrival time ... so it helps having something else to look forward to in between :)

When I ordered my EVH in 94, it took 8 1/2 months - nothing made me feel better during that wait. all worth it in the end, but hell at the time - good luck dude,

I tend to take the 3 to 4 month paper calendars (the months I will have to wait) to the shooting range and pretend to speed up time by blowing away the months.........but alas, it doesn't work. It is fun, so I go ahead and shoot up the rest of the year.....man, 2005 flew by......
