I've been tinkering with this myself, adjusting the truss rod, lowering saddles, tweaking tweaking. I'm kind of happy with the current setup but the saddles are in some cases the lowest you could set. Might be I need to take my Silo to a guitar technician after a while for even more fine-tuning (been planning on doing this after I played the guitar for 6-12 months, anyway.) I usually set the trem to one full tone pull so maybe my setup are on the level of extreme. Must say the Silo tremolos are very stable.

Three springs are usually good. It depends on the stiffness and stability as well as how much you tolerate bridge movement when bending strings.

I heard about the Carl Verheyen trick a couple of weeks' ago. Was thinking about tweaking my Silo but then again the current tremolo setup is so stable so I really don't have a need making it more stable.

Hi

I've got my trem set up to be about 1mm floating. String height at 12th on low E is 1.6mm (.009's)

I use 2 springs, in a V shape.( \ / instead of | | ) These are new springs, so they are still very tight.

Very very stable setup. If you don't do any crazy divebombs it will stay in perfect tune.

No springs, strings through the body, no floating angle whatsoever... Am I a weirdo now, or is my silo disabled in some way, since it doesn't have a trem? :)
