He burned the damn bar down!

I just got a call from Tommy who was playing about 10 minutes from where I live. Apparently during the solo for "Rocky Top" the fire alarms went off in the Cantina. He said once they realized it was not a false alarm, i.e. lots of smoke, he hit the doors running carrying his #1 Morse and his Y2D. I asked about the rest of his gear and he said he had to sneak back in past security to grab his Guytron head and cabinets. He apparently couldn't get back in to get the rest of his equipment, some Marshall combos/cabs.

He said it looked like it was a pretty bad fire from where he sat in his truck a couple of blocks from the bar.

As far as I know everyone made it out safe. It's a big place. Tommy said it looked like it started in the front so if they're lucky they'll get it knocked down and they'll only have smoke damage to the equipment that they didn't get out in time.

I'll be watching the news to see what happened and I'm sure Tommy will be checking in tomorrow with his personal account...

Yowsa. Thank God everyone is apparently safe.

Wow! I'm glad Tommy's safe, first and foremost. And then I'm glad he got the guitars and the Guytron. I know how much he enjoys those items!

This is a good time to consider special insurance coverage for your instruments if you haven't got a policy specifically for it.
