How long are Ernie Ball strings?

This may seem like a stupid question, but the length of strings isn't included in any specs (that I've found anyway).

Reason being I'm planning on building a lap steel, and would like to know the finite limits for a design.

The strings I'm planning to use are the 'Not Even Slinky' 12-56 variety - anyone know the length?

Also, is there any reason why the lengths of strings aren't given on the packets or in standard specs?
