I've had my Cutlass for a couple of years now and I don't think I've ever changed the battery in this thing. I carry a spare nine-volt to gigs just in case but should I go ahead and swap it out before it dies? What has your experience been?
I have had ONE battery die in my 12 years of playing EBMM guitars. That said, it happened abruptly. I change them approx once a year (I do keep track, LOL) as a maintenance item, then repurpose the battery to something less critical do get the rest of the use out of it.
I would love to see the "current draw" specs on their active onboard electronics, wether a boost, eq, or active pickup as such but can't find it. It's probably microampere (like a smoke detector) and not milliampere.
I constantly forget to unplug my Cutlass so it stays pugged in a lot!! I still get 5 to 6 months out of it. You'll notice a little distortion on the output signal before you'll notice any volume drop.
