I'm stuck in bed with man flu and going through my paperwork - (I keep all paperwork for all the gear I've bought and sold for the last 18 years)

Now I became a knucklehead pretty late in life and having been on the buying and selling trail for almost 20 years then I was suprised - in all the time from when I played my first ball till now I've only ever sold 2 on....

When I looked at 'other guitar brands I'd bought' - it was significantly higher,

Just wondered how many balls have you guys let go of over the years, and was it below any other guitar brands you might own???

Smelly the medicated market trending guy!

"man flu" maybe I don't want to know....

I've bought and sold more Jackson/Charvel guitars than anything, with PRS a very close second. Having just joined the EBMM family a month or so ago, I'm still in the honeymoon phase. At this point I don't see myself parting with either of mine, except to maybe replace the ASS with a BFR ASS. I'm pickier about my gear now than ever before, plus I have much less disposable income than before.

So far 2 balls were sold

My first one the Axis from 96' with a floyd that I've sold to finance the Hardtail EVH. No regret as I'm not a Floyd guy but that guitar was great
My Silo Special SSS that I've sold to finance the ASS with Piezo and also because the neck was not as good as the other one and my Albert MM90 was doing good for 3 single coils guitar. I have since then an Axis Sport SSS and I don't regret the Silo Spec except for the finish (Burnt Apple)

Others I have sold

* Yamaha SG2000 from 1977 that immediatly retire after getting my first Axis
* Strat with SL20 kit sold after getting the Luke was not played for 4 years after getting the first EBMM
* Hohner GT3 (seinberger like) that I great as I am travelling too much and miss practicing during those trip
* Hohner ST59 my first guitar a Strat copy

Forgot to wish Smelly a prompt recovery

1 sold so far.
A SSS-Silhouette from 1993 which had to go because of my AL. Could afford only one SSS guitar.

I have sold more guitars than I care to count - but fortunately for me, I have never sold any EBMM guitars and hope I never have to...

Sold only one private guitar in my whole life.
Gibson LS 6 DeLuxe
bought it together with a Roland Jazz Chorus Amp (I was 14) for 900.- Deutschmarks then.

Sold the guitar alone 2 years later for 950.- to a dentist.;)

Easy money I thought

Now I´m typing in a computer of my own guitar shop:D

Ok lets see, since my EBMM's are pretty much the bulk of my guitar owning, I'll give it a whirl.

EBMM's
  1. Axis Sport, Trem, Maple, Blue Dawn (Went to Pete D.)
  2. JP6, Non-Matching, Autumn Redrise (After a couple of owners, ended up with Pete D.)
  3. Sterling, Midnight Blue Sparkle, (Went to Lenny)
  4. Axis Sport, Hardtail, Maple, Silver Sparkle (Went to Rex, but bought it back from Rex and then sold it again to GrumpyOldMan (John))
  5. Silo, Hardtail, Maple, Blue Dawn, (Went to OC)
  6. Dargie Luke, Non-matching, (Sold on Ebay, ended up in a French Forumites hands, forget his name.)
  7. ASS, Hardtail, Autumn Red Burst, Maple (Went to . . . ., I'll be nice and let him tell you himself)

They were all Sparkle instruments and they've all ended up in homes that they are completely and totally loved. Though, I'd have to say that I would love to get the JP back at some point in the far off future, but I think Pete's not parting with it. ;)

Wow, I guess I've rotated out quite a few EBMM's, they were all great guitars and I miss some of them very much. :)

I've bought and sold probably about 15-20 guitars in my lifetime mostly because of my left handedness. The first time I ever play them is when I receive them from some online company or ebay. Regrettably, I sold me 2007 LE Luke, but only so I could afford my dream guitar, the JP. Have you heard, I'm interested in that guitar? :p

:D

Edit: I also sold my silhouette because it just wasn't for me. Not a huge fan of the maple neck like I thought I might be.

I've bought 7 balls and sold 6, not because they weren't great guitars or anything. The purple hardtail is just better than the rest.

Lum would sell body parts before parting with any gear, I'll be back tomorrow - and catch up with my mails, if I have to watch daytime TV for another second I will not be responsible for my actions!

As far as EBMMs go - I've been a "serial monogomist" in that I sell one to get another! The chronological list by purchase date is:

2004 Silo Special s/s/s in Vintage Burst - sold for "something else"
2006 Albert Lee with MM-90s in Trans Red - sold for 2007 Silo Special
2007 Silo Special s/s/s 2007 LE Blue Dawn - I think I'm keeping this one ;)
2004 SUB 1 - got it in a trade for an amp, and traded it toward my accoustic

Other brands pretty much come and go; I've had more Fenders than anything, followed by PRS and Gibson.

EDIT: I forgot about having the SUB 1 so I added it to the list.

The one instrument I really regret selling is the '74 Rickenbacker 4001 bass. I got tired of all the 'jack' problems and sold it for $1000 two years ago. In retrospect, I should have sent it to the factory for repair/rework.... or at least got $2k for the damn thing.

The only Music Man I have sold was a 2004 Stingray, but I immediately bought the Sterling. I like the Sterling better and Lord knows I don't need two basses.
