I seem to remember at the last OH someone HIGH up the EBMM foodchain (who could that be) discussing a possible passive bass. Don't remember whether it was just a "we'll tinker with the idea and see what comes up," a pipedream, or something that is closer than we think. Either way what we has is great, and I trust EBMM to only put out something that is total quality... so if it does pop up it should be killer. Damn, I wish I could remember the whole conversation... beer bad!!!!!!!

Stingray - active

Jazz - passive

Any 'additions', I feel, are naff. But if something new from EBMM was passive, I would sure as hell try it out.

Bovine I take ir you werent a fan of those subs that were passive... I do have a question thats alwaqys been on my mind so EB help me out... was the passive thing on some SUBS a decision to push costs down...?

It's not that I'm not a fan of the passive SUBs - just never had a chance to really try one out.

Sure, there's always room for something different, but there are already too damn many choices with EB/MM basses.

Besides, I do believe the active circuitry is the major draw for any EB/MM bass...aside from construction/feel/looks.

ya know. i'd 100% give a passive MM a shot and im sure id love it and probably would buy one... but i gotta admit - i love me that 3 band EQ.

i think i've converted every bass ive ever had to active electronics. its nice to not have to fiddle with an amp :)
