i was thinking buying a Axis SS with Piezo, and before i spend the extra cost, i was wondering if it is really something i will use regularly, how close does it sound to a real acoustic guitar? does the public hears the difference? will they wonder... where is the acoustic guitar?? haha

I can answer your question, I have an Axis SS Trem with Piezzo and use the Piezzo to achieve an acoustic sound at least 3 times every gig. Now I know that is due to our current set list but the sound even through my Mes Mini Rectifier clean channel is quite good enough in a live band environment to provide an acoustic sound. For instance one of the few oldies we play is the Kinks LOLA and I switch between Piezzo and Humbuckers several time through the piece.

I would not be without the instrument at any gig or jam night, just imagine even in a pretty tiresome 12 bar jam if the mood go's low you can really play a game changing sound.

Go for it, no 2nd thoughts.

I've posted a few times on this saying that have experienced on several occasions guys in the audience wondering where the acoustic was. Even had one guy in a pub gig holding his phone up. He later explained that he was phoning his mate to say that he had to pop over to hear it. I play mine th\rough a dedicated acoustic amp which is voiced for acoustic instruments. Sounds great!
I'm a big fan of the piezo.
