It was damned well hot and sweaty at the Lone Star Road House last night.

Got in late, I still need to clean her up a bit.

It might have been a Suicide Z Flat.

I agree that it is a bit odd to be out in public without a Bongo. In fact, I didn't even have one WITH me, which made me feel a bit off-balance. I had the 20th and the Bass of Justice, and the latter never even got plugged in.

The Bongo-Free Gig State won't last forever. I love my babies way too much, but for those of you who are still on the fence about SR5s.....how many ways can I say this?

What the 30th is to SR4s, the 20th is to SR5s.

Best.

SR5.

Ever.

You snooze, you looze. I gave up a couple of really good basses (ask Stanky) to be able to snag a 20th, and while I sometimes get nostalgic for Heinz, this is absolutely God's own Stingray 5. I don't know how else to put it.

I'd love to own that bass...

I love owning this bass. SmallEQ was at the gig last night, God bless him, and I grabbed a pic for something or another, and, later, when we were sitting around the table, he said, "The pic tone on that bass is the most unbelievable thing I've ever heard."

It's become my Desert Island bass.

Someone asked the other day about regrets about basses we'd let go along the way, and I can say that I've had some incredible instruments through the years. Not just EBMMs, either (the vast majority, though). But I have no regrets. Nostalgia, yeah, but as long as I can grab this SR5 on the way out the door, I can't feel badly about those that have come before.

Do I know how fortunate I am? Yeah, I do.
