Yes, I'm also tempted to buy it, but it's been tainted. I'd rather buy a new one instead.

Some people dn't deserve good things!

The seller is having the original pups put back in the guitar. +1

Taking them out of it to begin with -1

It's really not that bad looking even with the odd pups in it.....

Sometimes.... I think folks put too much emphasis on how things look..

after all, how a guitar plays and sounds is the bottom line, and that luke would rock to those standards..... but it's nice to have a guitar that plays and sounds great and looks stunning too....

I'd take Morse's #1 anyday, as beat up as it is.... then I'd put chrome P90's in it. LOL

The Luke on Ebay looks terrible. The chrome pickup is so out of place. After market pu's are ok but have some continuity.-----by the way, the stock EMGs are fantastic and do not need changing :)

Wouldn't really say it looks like poo that way...

...but - would it sound like poo ?! I don't think so, being that passive-PU guy I am...

...anyway - he now states that he's having a tech put the EMGs back in.

Maybe he schould just have removed the bridge pickup cover.
That's the only thing looking weird!
Soundwise it could be quite cool although I would never do this to one of my lukes - especially the routing!

- especially the routing!

That's what I'd be afraid of.

And as much as we all say that we have a guitar for how it sounds.......if you truely don't care about the looks, why not just do a Sub 1 krinkle finish on a BFR Luke? Why? Because that would cut it's value down dramatically. A really nicely finished quilt/flame trans top is expected to cost more than a solid painted one.

Routing a guitar is worse than krinkle coating a BFR Luke. You can't undo it, really.

It does look unbalanced. It would help if the single coils had silver covers on them as well. At least then it would match the trem. With the original pickups, it would have helped to have a black Trem.

Concerning the V-igier

no, that would be a great guitar designed by one of the best shred heads out there today... and a great lookin' Vigier for any and all of your Velveeta corporate party gigs or gigs whilst traversing Wisconsin.
:p

guitar for playin in the land of cheese - guess you got that right. Interesting, I researched Patrice V-igier and his business and was pretty surprised to learn you weren't bs'ing at all. Pretty nice guitars and pretty expensive too. The 90/10 wood/graphite necks are interesting. Don't know if I like zero frets thuogh.

French guitars eh!

That all being said however, this particular one is pretty cheesy... ;)

Nice Pete! When did you do that?

beej,

That was the other project I mentioned a little while back - got the kit about 4 weeks ago and did the install for a gig on Oct 3rd. I had to rewire the circuit board, relocate one toggle to the piezo toggle location and and remove the other so that it would fit in the existing control cavity with no routing. It works great, aside from the volume pot that came with the kit not working (I put the original one back in)

Sidenote - do not attempt a Sustainer install unless you have hours of time to work on it, it is NOT a plug & play mod...
