I have also used alcohol pads purchased at any local pharmacy for this. This will work as long as there is not too much glue residue left. They also work great for cleaning oil & grime from a bridge since it breaks up any oil deposits left there.

I am suprised alot of you are using any kind of chemicals to remove "residue". Those are not stickers on your bass bodies, they're just vinyl cling-on labels...no glue was involved.

Let me reinterate for a sec, this isn't like there's glue or something, it's a transference from the plastic strip which is on the body in the same shape (thanks Casa, it's just a stick-on label indeed). It's nothing like stickiness from tape, its like it's in the finish now.
