Hi Guys,
I'm new here, so Welcome :) Greetings from cold Poland! Unfortunately i don't have any balls yet ;-) but i'm willing to get one :] But I'm interested in HSS Silhouette Special with 24 frets, but as I can see there's no option to order that kind of silo... Am I right? Is the only option to find some on ebay etc?
Second question is the color question :) Is there someone who maybe has a photo of Orange Firemist or True Gold silo with the red (shell i belive) pickguard?
And the last question LOL :) I'm coming do NYC in June (for my honeymoon :p:p:p), and I planned to buy my Super Silo somwhere there (Yeah, first wife and first ebmm :p hope till the grave). To buy it, do I just go to the nearest GC and just order what I want? How long will I have to wait for the order (you know, unfortunately my honeymoon will be about 3 weeks) ?
Hope, i wont making a problem with those question... treat me nice :p And i hope my english in understandable.

thanks and ciao

I don't think Music Man makes a 24 Fret HSS Silo any more. (I want one too!). You could try to find one on ebay, but that's a crapshoot. Thus either go for the 24 Fret HSH Silo or the 22 Fret HSS Silo Special.

BTW, Welcome to the Forum!

you will have to get a used one if you want 24 frets, cause the new ones are 22. you could get a silo and then get a new pickguard with a HSS configuration. Thats the only way to get a new one like that.

Hey Shoewax, welcome aboard dude! If you're looking to buy new (or used) there is a preferred EBMM dealer in the area, he's in Manchester Connecticut, his name is Pete DuBaldo. He's a forum member here and you can get ahold of him to see what he can do for you.
Heres his contact info.

go to Welcome to the new DuBaldo Music Center website!

and see what he's got in stock, he might be able to get a Silo you want in time.

You can also go to Ernie Ball Music Man Dealer Locator and then enter the New York City Zip Code of 10005 and see all the dealers in the NYC area. There you will see website info and address/tele info too. I think I'd get something lined up prior to arriving in the USA so you don't interrupt your honeymoon. You don't want to upset the wife do ya? ;) Now, it could be that she is into doing this... :D

You can easily get a Silhouette HSS pickguard made and then get the single coil you want for the neck position and swap everything over to the new guard. Not hard to do. That is, if you really just have to have the 24 fret neck. If not look at the Silo Special, as has been mentioned. I think DuBaldo has one in stock, and he would sell it for a very good price.

Pickguard Heaven makes EBMM pickguards. They have a website and may ship international, if not maybe one of us could help you out.

Anyway, hope this helps and good luck in your quest.

Thanks JamminJim :) You've really helped! I'll have my eye on Dubaldo Music Store, and maybe email him too. Maybe till June I'll find something really cool :D btw my fiance is quite deep in silhouette subject (maybe because I'm talking about it alot :p), so i think it will be nice adventure to her too :] Unless I'll get the silo on my hands on the firsts days of a trip, and won't let it go...

Do check the SiLO's pups. In switch position 4 the neck humbucker is actually split for a single coil sound. If you put a super 5 way switch in there you can limit the neck humbucker to be a single coil at all times.
SiLOs are just cool!

yeah maybe You're right... I just got used to hss, and thought that hsh is too... hmmm how to say it... heavy... :p I play kind of funk-rock style, mixing clean tones with crazy riffs (you can give it a try www.myspace.com/funkyniepokalanki). So I'm playing riffs with my hum, and funky tones with my single pickups. But (it's a shame to tell You guys) my guitar it's piece of **** :) now i think that the split silo's hum will be waaaay better than my ****ty singles. You've just realised it to me Man! Got me thinking now... :p
