Rob, you were totally right, as supported also by GuitarHack - the SSS position 2 (bridge/middle) really is different sounding from the split bucker HSS. Thanks to both of you.

And thanks to Dan and MusicMan for your as-always professionalism and quick turn around time on my new SSS pickguard assembly. I'm lovin' it!

Looks cool.

Does the silent circuit now work in positions 1, 3 & 5 like the factory made SSS guitars?

I haven't even popped a battery in to check the SC yet, but the answer would be, yes. It is a factory made SSS guitar assembly.

Rob and GH, I am totally diggin' the sound of position 2!! It's perfect for my amps too, just the kind of accent it loves, to bark, spit, piss and growl :D. I'm kinda surprised at position 3/middle pup alone, as I never seem to find much use for it, but on this setup it's a very usable sound. Also, the base plate on the bridge p'up makes it usable by itself too, for certain things anyway. But position 2... frankly, I'm freakin' out over it! Had it bright and sassy, doin' some pride and joy... it rips!

I'm keeping the bucker on my other Silo, but this makes a perfect compliment to it.

how does that Laney sound?

Well, lol, ya know... it's all what ya like, right? I've had a love affair with this little amp all along, especially tube and speaker tweaked as it is. It's still got the Brit chime thing goin on, but it's smoothed out considerably from stock.

Rob, yes, middle only on the SSS and split bridge and neck on the HSS. You certainly were right about the SSS being closer to strat than the HSS, though that's not to speak any less of the HSS, as it does it's own thing really well.

Rob, assuming you're presently gigging, what are you taking with you these days?

Also, I don't see your LE Silo in your picture folders. Didn't upload it yet?

havent been home at all to upload pics of my LE 06, tomorrow is the day! Ive been gigging with both my Silo Specials, mainly for the piezo with the Dargie, but i am enjoying the HSS, and so is the band. They would rather me use a humbuker some of the time for the heavier tunes. I'd much rather stick with SSS! I love single coils! I play an AL every other gig too just to play one cos i love them!

Cool, thanks.

I'll keep an eye out for that LE when you get to it.

Yeah, when it gets the hairs standing up on the neck you know something's right, lol... But as you've also said, the HSS (with rosewood) will still be my #1 go-to. At least for now.
