humbuckers or p-90's

I have an Axis Super Sport that I think is the finest guitar that I have ever played. My question is can the humbuckers be replaced with the p-90's? Are they interchangeable?

You can get humbuckers sized-P90s that will fit and then it's just a matter of soldering.
