New Headstock Logo? I believe I see the Musicman Logo Twins. Also, definitely looks like standard strat switching (master vol, 2 tones, 5-way) plus a bridge toggle for full/split or series/parallel...or maybe even add bridge ala Morse.

Can anyone decipher the model name from the headstock? I can't really make it out on my phone.

Warms my heart to see this, not only because it's cool in itself but since MM's going down this road, then maybe we'll see an Axis-style Tele killer one day!

I googled him and came out even more ignorant. Never heard of him. Then again Europe has never really heard of country, we got lucky Albert Lee is British!

Looks like "Collins" or "Collin" or something similar to me. It may be something he wrote on there that has some personal meaning, or maybe the model name. He has a history of writing on his guitars, which leads me to believe it's the former.

Exactly my thoughts on this. Who better to create a better tele than MM? No one!

I tried to watch 3-4 of his videos last week, but couldn't stand more than a minute or so of any of them.
I assume he sounds better live without all that processing. (??)

HH as an artist isn't growing on me like I thought he might, though I continue to give him a fair chance. I bought his "Storyline" album, and will continue to listen to it until I either like it or decide that I don't. Full disclosure: I love Brad Paisley as an artist and guitarist, and can do without any/all other pop country. I love country lead guitar playing as a style, which is why I like Hiland and Brent Mason so much. HH's vocal/musical style is outside of my comfort zone...I'll have to wait and see.

The guitar though, IMO, can't lose.

Strat-like, new logo on the headstock, 3 knobs, 5-way switch AND a toggle-switch. VERY INTERESTING!

Well since the Tele was my first electric and #1 guitar for 15 years I am totally digging it! But on the business end of things I find this a brilliant move by Sterling and EBMM! I had stated in an earlier thread I thought the sig was going to be for a country player (I believe I said Johnny Hiland) but no disrespect to Hiland, this is seriously a very smart choice. I have only seen Hayes a few times and remember him on American Idol 2 seasons ago as he played and sang with one of the finalist who was a big fan. I know most of the board (if your keeping it real lol) are wondering why it wasn't done with an older, more experienced player like Paisley or Urban=because this makes more sense and if it were my company I would of made the same move. The guy is in his early 20's, can play, sing, write and looks to be on his way to having a very long career. Country is hotter then it's ever been as far as cross over appeal and he is big with the females and because he has some serious chops should make the young guys want to play guitar, which gets an EBMM sig in the hands of a very young country star.If the guitar is going to survive and comeback as the driving force in popular music this is the way it will happen=Great choice!

I completely agree, except the relation between this guitar and a tele. I don't see one, but I'm hoping that comes later in the form of a new model. Great business choice here, aligning with a young, popular, rising star. Martin Guitars felt the same way I guess.

Another great thing is that folks like me who don't really get into HH music will be able to enjoy this awesome new guitar anyway. They're creating a genre neutral guitar, no matter how it's marketed.

Only few signature models of a guitar company do really stand the test of time. I am confident that Sterling and his team will deliver ... as they have done before with the Morse, Lee, Petrucci, or Luke.

Any details/hints about an official unveil date, Big Poppa?

nope

you guys have to understand that we dont go after anyone never have. I deal or have dealt with all of the other names mentioned. It has to be a good fit for both parties.

That's what it look like it says on my 32" monitor.

Can't wait to see more.

This is why, IMO, you have no wasted artist relationships with your guitars. All bring something new or different to the table. I hope you keep expanding. Still hoping you get together with Hiland and write the final word on the tele.

You COULD write a book that'd be as addictive for all of the guitar and bass nerds as "Fifty shades..." is for all the ladies out there.

BP, I wonder how long it usually takes to develop a signature guitar from the scratchboard to seeing it in stores for the first time?
