A good friend of mine sold me a pair of SWR Workingman 210 speaker cabs, and I bought a SWR 2004 (200 watt) amp on eBay, is this stuff any good or did I blow it? I have about 550.00 invested in this rig. I plan to leave it at my house gig, the amp head will be here Thursday.

Thanks,

Chuck

Not bad for the $$ although 200W may be a bit underpowered....let us know.

Well after a day of home confinement, (waiting for the UPS man), my amp arrived. I went and got a set of speaker cables, big @#!*% cables, you could jump start a car with these things and I hooked it all up. It’s a good sounding rig, once I figured out what the knobs do. It has more than enough power for my gig, I was taking my Ashdown ABM500 C210 without the 410 cab and was just barely cranking the volume, and the SWR should do fine. I’ll find out tomorrow night.

Musician's Friend sold the 210's for $219 recently, and I believe the head went for $199, though I could be wrong about the head. I picked up the 110 and am very happy with it.

Well the amp worked great and has plenty of power for this gig. I had another gig after my country gig, (a B3 blues thing) and it really helped time wise not to have to load that too. It’s found a home.

I know this crazy but I’ve started looking for an Ampeg SVT all tube head, the reasoning appears to be some sort of stupid quest to have one of each type amp. I have an all solid state SWR, a hybrid the Ashdown, but no all tube specimens. Lucky for me my wife has a much clearer grip on reality… wait, that’s not lucky for me…
