this a.m. i got an email from what looked like ebay.......really LOOKED real !!!!!!
but the link asked for my id & password .......& i know thats not normal for ebay....so i forwarded it to ebay....& they replied back that it was indeed a scam to get my id & password.
the massage was to the effect.....
my account info needed to be updated ..or they may have to close my account.
any email that has to ask YOU for your id should be viewed as a scam......
watch it y'all !!!!!!!!! (also they disquised it as a real looking ebay sign-on block )

I've gotten this E-mail twice now.

Says if I don't update my information I'll be locked out of eBay. The link takes you to a place where they ask for your credit card info and something else. I instantly got suspicious so I assigned it "junk mail" status.

I agree. It looks completely official. I decided that it's probably a scam but if this is how eBay works, who needs them.

Seems like a scam though.

the trouble is...that's not how ebay works !!
how it does work is if you forward the email to [email protected] ........they bust them !!!!!!

I get these all the time. Good that you were able to spot it, but it's really good not to trust ANY e-mail to log you in it ANYTHING. All eBay e-mails they send to you appear in "My Messages" in your "My eBay" page, so you can login via their website to see if a message is legit.

Remain vigilant.

I got an email saying that my pay-pal account was showing un-normal activity , and that I should forward the info so they could fix the problem. Funny thing is I don't have a pay-pal account. Needless to say I just deleted the email.

I got so many of these that I had to set up my filters to delete them automatically.
I showed my wife once, and she was freaking out! "How can they do that?!!"
LOL. (she's not very computer/internet savvy ;) )
