Hey guys this axe is beautifull but I feel like I suck to much to own this baby, been practicing and its getting more and more frustrating cuz theres stuff I used to do that I can't do now and its getting on my nerves, of course it's not the Pet this neck is sweet so i dont know what the hell is going on, I stoped playing for months way before i ordered my pet, and i've been playing for a month or so now.... Anyone ever felt like this??

oh yeah as you get older your priorities change. For a long time (too long to think about!!) I got into other things raising kids, work, Karate, making stained glass....
I was sooo pissed with the music sh!t I was hearing I just packed my guitars up and didn't play. It was that long I'm sorry to say that the padding/material in the Les Paul case stuck to the Les Paul and "bit" into the paint work. It was kinda battered anyways!!!

I started again after so many people pestered me, bought a Pod which rekindled my playing and got into different styles of playing - e.g. Albert Lee.

it was quite funny when I asked the question on the Vinny Moore thread -"do you ever get fed up with practicing and find you just drop into the comfort zone".
He said oh just leave it for a couple of days and get back to it - I left it for a couple of years!!!

I really enjoy the "young guys" of today the way they play - so fast and nimble!!
....... sweep picking, tapping - I can just dream - I would love to pick up on those techniques - I couldn't even tell you what chord/notes I'm playing most of the time!!

But one night a guy came up to me and said "hey ol' man, nice playing !! thought you were like a cross betwen Kossoff and Mike Ronson - cool... that'll do for me  ;)

I'm kinda the same way...I don't really pay much attention to the notes or mode I'm in..I play what sounds good..it's not that I don't know what I'm doing in a technical sense, it's just that I learned the theory early on enough so I can improvise...

thx for the support guys, I Totally agree with u guys, my priorities havent changed musical wise its just that i cant seem to have time anymore its sucks, so i try to grab her when ever i can what kinda pisses me off is that i feel somehow like a poser cuz come on if u see a guy with a pet ur gonna think that this guy can make some fireworks with it ... but **** it im have to keep trying i used to be very good at legato but now its not comming together my pinky is giving me hell when im in the high E and i do a pull off.... it drags the string off the fretboard and makes a plucky sound totally hate it...... and **** my alternate picking......ug.... have u seen petrucci's video? when he talks about the "inside of the string picking"? I have a cronic illness in that subject.... lol
