The actual EBMM EVHs are going for insane prices these days! I think the Axis is likely every bit as good and a heckuva lot more affordable!

The Petrucci models look way cool. Every Music Man I have played (admittedly not that many, however) has been great. As to my OLPs, I must I have gotten some good ones, because mine don't have the problems that a lot of people here seem to have experienced with them.

I agree! I mean Prince played a Hohner Tele that was really cheap, and now those go for big bucks because he did. I mean, I think there are great guitars at all price points, and bad ones, too. I try to keep an open mind and not make price or prestige the main reasons for buying things. It has to speak to me, and I have played plenty of super expensive guitars that didn't do anything for me. Conversely, I have played some cheapies that were incredible.

They are not cheap.. maybe in price yeah.. but they are made of basswod just like the axis.. the pickups are sweet... and the neck is nice too... Hey, look at eddie.. a 150$ guitar... a look how famous it is!

I love my OLP Silo Spec. With the exception of the nice feeling of the indian rosewood neck on my P*S, the OLP does exceptionally better with regards to overall sound quality (amplified), variety of sound, and playability.
Yeah, I like my OLPs. A lot of people dis them, but I love mine. I'm looking forward to an Axis, as well. Then, maybe a Wolfgang, eventually. Need to have a range of EVH guitars!

Here's a better pic of my red one. Although it's a quilt film finish, I think it looks great!:

Hey nothing wrong with the OLPs.
They're what brought my attention to Music Man in the first place.
I think once you get an Axis, you'll no longer need the OLPs though.
So what are you getting a Music Man???
Once you do, don't be surprised if you want to buy many of them and you sell off your collection.
I'm just warning you. Don't say I didn't tell you so.

I hope to get my Axis this year, we'll see. As I said, I have 29 guitars, and I don't sell my guitars. They all have a place with me, and they run the gamut from vintage to inexpensive and all points in between. I have no doubt I will love my Axis, however.

Is it important to you? Don't take it personally. If you don't want to read about OLPs, then why are you even bothering with this thread? I'll post about my OLPs and anything else that us relevant. I didn't know there was a limit! Don't hate.
