Got a new old Ball. Silhouette Special. So, I've been trying to find a white Ball for a little while now, I was wanting either an Al or a Silo Spec with natural headstock. Patience finally paid off and I found a good deal on one. It had a tort"ass" pickguard on it...switched it out for white. I'm thinking about putting the pearloid tuners from my ASS on it instead of the chrome ones...might look sweet. The white has aged to a buttercream and the maple fretboard has plenty of playwear on it, so it already has a vintage type feel to it. It's far from mint, but I'm liking the fact that it's broken in and I don't have to worry about keeping it mint. It plays great...no issues.....and very very comfy to play...LUV it! In hindsight, I should have gone with a SS (or Al) way before I got an Axis or ASS.

I am going to switch the pickups out eventually. I was wondering what everyone thought of the black pickups on the white pickguard? When I get new pickups should I go with white pickups or stay with black?

I reckon go black pickups. You need a bit of contrast on the axe.
Great Silo btw! pearloid tuners would look kickass. I'm actually chasing some for my Silo Spec.

I'd say go with the black also....kind of like the complete reverse of Gilmour's black strat. (black body / white pickups and knobs).

I would stick with the contrasting color scheme of black and white (of course I'm biased :D )

but it is yours so have fun with it and try whatever you like
