So I finally went to GC to check a Luke 3. Lucky for me they had a Luke 1 to compare it to. First off the neck. OMG the greatest neck I've ever played. Instantly bonded with the soft V shape.

The body on the L3 is bigger, not that much bigger but I prefer the smaller one. The Dimarzio Transition pups sound so much better than the EMGs. So i like the body on the 1 with the pups of the 3. How can I get a Luke with the smaller body, boost and Dimarzios?

Sounds like you would just have to buy a luke and then add the dimarzio a afterwards

That being said, I think the luke III is the best guitar ever made. I will never sell my bali burst. Liii

The boost rocks! Plays like a dream, crunchy to twanggy to creamy. It has it all, best overall guitar ever.

My plan, very soon is to have an L3 to complement my Luke's 1 & II. Then I'll have all options open to me. Hmm, which Luke will I use today? Nice problem to have.

The LIII is my favorite MM guitar. Glad you have also seen the light. ;) It's a great guitar.

Are the V necks on the III's not quite as sharp as the other models?

I certainly hope that's not the case and they are the same or at least close to the other Luke necks, as to me they are the most natural and comfortable to play of any neck on any guitar I have tried. Well by all accounts everyone seems to like them a lot so that's encouraging.
