I found this - whaddaya think ?

Pete, it all depends what you want. Those have been popping up on EvilBay every now and then. Limited Editions are only worth it, if you think they are worth it. The color is not a standard color, and it's very F*nder'ish. If that's what your looking for go for it.

See to me Jason's Burnt Apple SS is what I'd be looking at, if it were me. First off it's a discontinued color, second, it's cool looking and as most know here it's Sparkley and I love the sparkle finishes.

As long as your purchasing a EBMM, whatever color or option configuration you get you'll love it.

It says white in the auction, but that looks like the BUTTERCREAM color to me.

But I gotta agree with Glenn and say Beej has the coolest looking one for sale...though I'd probably go with a straight black pickguard on it instead of current black Pearloid. Put EMG's in it, then season to taste.

First of all, that is one sweet looking Silo Spec.

With respect to the Ltd. ed. I agree with Glen. It's personal and worth it if you want it to be worth it. I went for a Ltd. color (actually changed my color choice mid-order when the Envy Green was initially introduced) because I decided I wanted it and didn't mind the upcharge. If you want that guitar in that color for whatever reason and feel the price is acceptable - go for it.

But I wouldn't chase an premium priced LE for resale or investment value. I don't know what used EBMM's are trading for in the UK. Is this way overpriced over there?

If its not exactly what your looking for and you're open to color choices or pup configurations, then keep looking to find your best deal. With the current exchange rate buying a used US version shipped would be most likley be the way to go.

BTW- I actually have a spare plain black SSS pickguard; I was planning to throw it in since I won't need it if I sell the guitar.
 
that is a sweet colour.
I am assuming that's what Buttercream would look like.
I would do it with a white pearloid guard though!

I think it's just a mistake this seller made, that guitar does look like buttercream.

I like the pickguard it has on it at the moment. I'll agree with putting EMG's into it, those pickups rock!!!! BUt whoever gets this guitar, they are gonna have a very nice looking guitar. I'm quite impressed with the Buttercream color.

I must admit I like the colour way more than I thought I would.
When everyone was making a fuss about the colour coming back after NAMM, I couldn't have cared less. I saw a picture of a Bongo in the colour and it didn't do anything for me.
However, after seeing that, I would strongly consider a purchase with that colour!!!!

Scott, the colors not buttercream. EBMM made a limited number of SS guitars for the 30th anniversary MIAC (Music Industry Association of Canada), I'm guessing it was 30, but I could be mistaken. The color isn't blonde, F*nder used to call it Vintage White, it's a nice color, but I personally think that there are better EBMM colors available.

I have a feeling that Buttercream is a more pail whiteish color of this, but that's my take.

I just had another look at it, and you can just tell that it's a well made guitar, l look at the pictures and think wow thats a stunning guitar, addictive things they are. :p

Just so you guys know, we pay a hell of a lot for EBMM guitars in the UK - this price is probably about right. For my Sil Spec with piezo and matching stock, I paid around $3000US - you guys in the US have it easy
 
any views on the vintage trem bridge ?

looks like I might have a new buyer for my 76 Firebird so getting very tempted to buy the buttercream Silo special - but I dont want to find that an old style trem bridge causes me tuning issues - especially after playing Swamp Ash PRS which stays DEAD in tune all the time.

Any views on the bridge on this beauty ?
