I wasn't sure where to post this, since they're not EBMM guitars, but I wanted to share my find with all of you.
Last Friday I got home and my wife asked me to take my truck over to this yardsale so she could pick up this piece of antique furniture she bought. So we get there and there's a sign - "Musical Instrument Sale". I asked the person what they had and she took me to a back building on the property. They had an air conditioned room in the back where they were storing all kinds of things.
They had 5 cases - 3 guitars, a banjo, and a baritone uke. I opened the cases and had heart failure - there were three well-preserved vintage guitars:
- a 1961 Gibson Melody Maker in excellent condition
- a 1965 Fender Jaguar in fair to good condition (finish cracking)
- a 1961 Gretsch Jet Firebird double cut in Excellent condtion (a little binding yellowing)
Needless to say - I bought the whole lot for a very low price.
I know what your thinking - you'll be seeing these on ebay soon. I've been having so much fun playing them and getting into the vibe and the unique sounds they make I've decided to keep all but the Jag.
I used to think yard sales were where women bought and sold junk to each other, but now I'm thinking I'll get up early this saturday . . .
