i did a step-in job with a coverband trio and the guitarplayer is what id like to call "oldfashionistic"
he called the bongo the ugliest bass ever, but after the gig the pipe had a different sound :)
it was perfect in the trio setting. round, full and present, with all the balls i wanted it to have ;)

Luckily, it's not "either/or" as I spent a beautiful few hours communing with my SR5 two nights ago.

And you have a trans orange SR5? Get out. That rocks.

It is a sweet color. Another finish that is hard to photograph but it really is stunning in person. :)

What rubbish!

I posted this elsewhere on the internet and it sums up my feelings about the Bongo perfectly ...

People who do, love them."

it was not a joint venture it was a basic design study and what ended up being the bongo was Dudley, hans and me.

Speaking of history, if I have anything wrong on that little informational piece, please let me know and I'll correct it.

I have this feeling that this statement - "BMW's Design Group did indeed formulate the Bongo's overall look" - is not exactly correct. I think that came from talks with Hans.
