Hey man....I think it is great that you are pursuing a gig like that. I happen to play guitar and I usually hang out on the other side....but, I saw the posting and had to check it out....BTW....I recently ordered a JP-6 with piezo from Bassplayr (yep, the one on the forum right here) and if you do decide on a new bass....I recommend him highly! Made everything nice and easy and took really good care of me....good luck with your show and I hope you get the bass you are looking for.

yeah i know about doug. weve chatted before. he was very much into getting me a ray, but sadly my funds kinda just dissappeared during the negotiations. but he was very helpful and very friendly. i liked talking with him alot. when i get the money hes the first guy im going to. thank you for all the support guys.

oh yeah my dream ray would probably be: a Lava Pearl Stingray 4, white pearloid pickgaurd, 3 eq, maple fretboard, and matching headstock. just in case anyone was wondering.

Update!

ok, so it was 2 weeks and the guy who was supposed to get me set up didnt call me. but hes a teenager, goes to school, yada yada yada. i dont blame him, im a busy person myself, i know how it is. anyway, i got tired of waiting for him to call me so i went up to the youth group and talked it over with the band and got all set up. they practice on tuesdays, so im going on tuesday. i was told that if i do good tuesday that it doesnt mean ill play on wednesday. i was told they were going to look at my playing and my spirituality. so yeah, its looking kinda iffy to me. im not very vocal in my beliefs, but playing music would be a way for me to express that. so this will certainly be intresting. i think musically i got it. i just need to learn the stuff. spiritually, thats for them to decide.

Judge not.........

Good Luck on the Gig dude. I am actually playing drums with the main band on Sundays at an AG. Your in a great environment. Positiveness breeds positivenss.

I also had fund issues when I wanted to upgrade from my Jazz5. I found a buddy that worked at GC and he gave me some good prices on my used gear that I no longer used (to the tune of $1k). Just a suggestion if your lucky enough to have some quality used gear you can swap.

I now have a Stingray5 and it is sweeeeeeeeeeeeet!!!!!!

Trust in the Lord dude. He will provide............ ;)

if you want an olp i have one...i mean its sort of like a sub...kind of...we can pretend. but i just got my bongo so i'd sell it to you for a hell of a lot less than a real stingray and you could always put an active pickup in it...i think?
