i hear ya, i have 2 strats that i cant wait to get rid of, but no takers yet!!! I guess it depends on how low i want to go.....or how desperate i am for a new ball!

my 2 strats are USA Fender 62 ( red ) and 57 ( 2 tone burst ) reissues.
I have an Ibanez S-1620 (is a prestiege S series with a Bubinga top and mahogany body and a Lo-Pro Trem)
And a Carvin DC200 with 2 EMG 85s and a EMG PA2 and EXG with Ebony fretboard and maple neck thru, mahogany body and sperzel locking tuners.
and a Carvin Bolt kit strat with ebony board and 3 hot rails and locking tuners

Have you tried the Carvin forum, I don't know if Ibanez has a forum, Fender forum Rob, Harmony Central, The gear Page.........worth a try.

The retail market is very slow right now-------the used market is DEAD!!!!!! Its not your guitars or the place you are trying to sell them----used stuff is dead across the board right now.............the upside is if ya have some money---its a buyers market!!!!!!!!!!

I have about 19 guitars now (I know, ridiculous), and I have some that I don't play as much as others but I hang on to 'em because I'd almost have to give them away if I sold them. I figure I'd rather have some diversity in my collection and at least get some of my money's worth out of the purchase. 
If you record a lot, having different brands with different pups, wood. etc. can be a boon. (At least that's how I reconcile it for myself)

+1 on offering it to the UK etc. I've seen a few e-bay EBMM's that I would have considered, but they were US only auctions.
FWIW, UK sales of guitars etc are currently at the highest level they've ever been at.

I have some stuff I want to sell. I was considering Uk, Europe and Aus but the thought of shipping out there safely and the cost kind of scares me. What do I do to get actual pricing and ensure delivery etc. ?

I always use the US postal service. They are pretty reasonable and I've never had a problem. You can take the item to the post office and let them weigh it and give you the rate to where you wanna ship it, or go to USPS.com, the shipping calculator is usually on the money, if you input the right info. I'm pretty sure you can track it door to door. The last time I shipped to the UK was a couple of months ago. I was able to track it. The guitar was at Bungo's doorstep in less than a week, but I do live on the East coast, that saved shipping time.

Even with import duty/taxes etc guitars from the US (mostly) still represent good value to us over here as what you pay in dollars is usually about the same as what we have to pay in pounds.

Do I have to include those import duty and taxes in the shipping cost or is that something that the buyer takes care of when he receives it?

Buyer pays duty and stuff on his/her end according to the declared value you state on the customs form, I think it's called a Customs Dispatch Notice. You can try to help the buyer out by putting a lower value, but if the axe gets damaged or lost he/she can only claim the value you put on the customs notice. Also you can't insure it for the full value either if you state a lower value, so usually the buyer opts for you to declare the correct value.
