So I wake up this morning, get a bottle of water, and go to my truck to head off to class. Just like every other morning, right?

No. I open up my truck and find everything in my glove box slung throughout my truck. I find 2 of my school books (that I just bought), a few tools, and about $20 stolen out of my truck. I go to get my brother to make sure nothing was missing out of his car. He goes to check and they've taken his brand new iPod and yanked his aux cable from his CD player out.

Note: Both of our vehicles were locked.

I know it's just things but I don't deal with people stealing from me very well. Here's the kicker, i'm pretty sure I know who did it. I hope they're ready to deal with me when they get home today. I've caught them near my house at night before and i've been told by a few folks in the neighborhood that they saw them walking around last night. I hope they're ready to deal with me when they get home today.

Edit: Jack, will you edit my title. Anger causes me to misspell things.

sorry man..

--2 basses stolen from my home last summer..while i was sleeping..

It's tough to take the high road, "do the right thing" etc.. and move on after being violated, but in the long run it beats the other alternatives.

It sure as @#$% wasn't my first gut-level reaction tho...

good luck..

Andrew,

I feel for ya man...my car got broken into a few years ago, and I wanted to destroy whomever did it! My problem was...I had no idea who did it, so I had to let it go. After I cooled down a bit, I decided that whatever was taken could be easily replaced, and aside from having no faith in my fellow man...I moved on.

You on the other may have a pretty good idea as to who did it as you said, but at least let the local law enforcement community have a shot at dealing with this instead of a potentially dangerous confrontation.

Just be careful buddy...you're one of the good guys!

Really sucks to here bro, Its getting worse and worse around these parts (Al. I mean) there are meth heads all over the county I live in that will rob you blind given the chance, crying shame really 10 years ago you could leave your house and car unlocked and not have to worry about a thing.

Too bad I am not in the area....

Just be careful bro....and I am talking from experience here. Thieves are a lower form of life. They are not heroes and cower when confronted usually. Some feel the need to have "help" with them because they cannot man up if you know what I mean. Just be careful....

I presume you'd never leave any of your basses in the truck after a gig? I always unload my basses, even when they're sitting in a locked vehicle in a locked garage. You just never know.

I HATE thieves!!!

But, thanks to our "great" courageous leaders of this country of ours, we have to deal with this *%&$#* everywhere, everyday!!

I don't normally talk like this, but they ought to cut their *#^%# hands off when they catch them!!

Actually, I'm sure they've already been caught (a dozen times or so) already in their criminal careers.

Andrew, be cool, you won't accomplish anything by doing the "right" thing, as you mentioned; you have to "play" the justice game.

Yeah, this sucks big time, but...

- please don't play hero... we don't need a Jaco style drama around here
- please don't leave stuff in your car, especially not if it's parked outside
- be happy you still have all your basses!!!

Me and my brother both filed reports this morning and I gave the cops a tip off of the guys that did it.

Here's the funny thing. I saw one of the guys at my college just a couple hours ago. I went to confront him and he took off running. I didn't want to make a scene so I let him go but this isn't over yet.

Many thanks for all the kind words. :)
