Ok so I check my bank account today and there's 2 mysterious transactions pending. I go and look in my truck again and realize all my receipts are gone.

I assume you've phoned your bank and/or credit card company to advise them of the transactions. If you advise them immediately, the most you'll be liable for is $50. At least, that's how it generally works.

Been down that road...at least, you have an idea who may have done the dirty deed! The dirtbag got my check book so I immediately called the bank to told them to put a stop on any transactions.
So, call the bank and have them do this to your account then go in open a new one then transfer everything to the new account.
In another incident, I have had someone get ahold of my account somehow...I was checking my statements and found $1000 forged check. Had to go through same routine...the bank didn't charge me for the forgery. But, I asked the bank how a forged check got through their system. They said that they don't inspect every check under $10,000, which was news to me.

No news at all. I doubt there will be any. Slack ass cops around here. Instead of hiding behind buildings trying to nail people for speeding, they could be getting off their asses and doing something.

talk about cops...i was at this girl i know's place hanging and her crazy cop friend (who we were hanging out with earlier with a group of people) opens the door uninvited and kicks me, takes her phone and calls me in full rage...there is more to the story and all ended in my favor but i think they hire the wrong people to be cops

sucks that people get so low to steal...it could have been worse though...a fellow porsche owner in atlanta got his early 90's track ready 964 targa backed out of his driveway a couple weeks ago and still no sign of the car...

BTW...GO SABREs 10 to 1 over atlanta...

If the "villuns" are using your credit card, the bank will be the best party to goad into action. Over here, the banks go after those type of guys hard.

social degradation

Really sucks to here bro, Its getting worse and worse around these parts (Al. I mean) there are meth heads all over the county I live in that will rob you blind given the chance, crying shame really 10 years ago you could leave your house and car unlocked and not have to worry about a thing.

John

sorry to hear of your loss , Andrew ... and , Jphn, you have a point about the meth heads ... a year ago, I landed a new night job ... did my studying etc and got the gig as a mobile security guardon canine patrol with a protection dog ... I patrolled parkades on the graveyard shift drove about 200 miles per shift and walked up and down a lot of stairwells with my dog ... found lots of folks camping in stairwells ... until one morning when me and my dog found some pretty messed up folks in one locationand one meth head took exception to being asked to move on ... and then the fight was on ... me and my doggie ( = aggressive and energetic defending ourselves against a crazed methead attacking us with a knife ... needless to say, I'm still here but I gave up the job along with a lot of sleep while the badguy got away without a dogbite ( the criminal code of Canada puts a lot of responsibility on a guard to not use more force than necessary in a self- defence situation ... and serious doggie bites could have worked against me and my doggie in court ... some of the worst parts of the deal were that this all happened in front of 6 parked police cars right below a community police station and it took the cops 25 minutes to respond to my assistance call through 911:eek:
, so, Andrew, be careful out there my friend:)

"there are 8 million stories in the "naked city" ... this has been one" one of the other worst parts of the job was meeting a citizen in a parkade who has just returned to his car to find it broken into and messed up pretty bad ... and all I could do for him would be to remind him to keep his insurance paid up ... I hate to say it, but, it seems there are 3 kinds of people these days ... a)tbadguys ... b) those who have been violated and, c) those who are about to be:eek:
hang in there buddy,
all the bass,
/PL:)

Thats ridiculous about the excessive force thing. Of course its starting to get that way in the U.S. as well. To think that you could have been the one prosecuted for self defense! Glad your ok! In the south thankfully we are still somewhat of the mentality of "shotgun pointed at you for trespassing" and able to protect ourselves and our property freely.

in Ireland if you break into a house a cut yourself on the glass from the window you just broke......you can sue the arse off the house owner...that gets me mad.

a guy i knew..ahem...cough....came home from work and saw a guy breaking into his house. So he grabbed him and kicked the devil out of him, dragged him out of the house and left him in a heap in the road outside. He then rang the cops and said he was driving home and saw a some drunk lying on the side of the road.......you got it easy in Texas
