Yup,

So yesterday my new Luke was supposed to get to me. I had the tracking number from pete and ups.com was saying "out for delivery". Well, that was 24 hours ago and it still says "out for delivery".

I called ups a few times yesterday and they said the delivery trucks run till 7pm. So from about 6pm to 8:15pm i waited outside the office cuz last time they didnt bother ringing the doorbell and just assumed nobody was there.

So i waited for over 2 hours and i gave up. it still says "out for delivery". WTF? i wonder where my poor Luke is.

Ive been working about 14 hours a day for over a week now so a lil gift to myself definately woulda been great... but alas twas not meant to be cuz ups sucks.

Do you have any idea where the guitar is? Did you call them?

i called them about 10 times yesterday. i asked to setup a pickup but they said the warehouse wasnt open for pickups on the weekend.

im gonna call again in a bit to see if they know where the guitar is today. im not one to get mad at a service provider cuz im usually pretty mellow about that stuff but this is the second time. out of principal, not for the $, im gonna get them to drop the shipping charge. if this was the first time i wouldnt care cuz stuff happens but this is twice in 2 months... thats pretty rediculous

I had them do a similar thing to me when I was expecting my Axis.

UPS comes down my street a few times a day. I was home all day spending most of the time in my office which is next to my front door. It was summertime and my ears were peeled for that truck. After the truck went past my house late in the afternoon I checked the UPS site and it said undeliverable, no one home or something like that. I was not a happy camper. There was no way he stopped here. I wound up calling them and picked it up at their terminal later that evening. I didn't want it knocking around in a truck for another day. That and I really really wanted it too.

I know what you mean!! I had a simular situation with my EVH, it was out for delivery at 6:30am and didn't show up until 7:30pm. The worst part was the EVH was a liittle under the table gift to my self (always wanted one) so the wife didn't have a clue.. I was hoping it would be delivered by 5:30pm!! So lets just say if was fun trying to cover up that delivery, some how I did though.. I think I said it was for the parents or something.

Good luck on yours and I hope you have it soon!!

I suspect that someone from UPS being one of your enemy or became after the first time...that's really sucks anyway

who said the waiting is the best part ? ;)

Had to wait 8 weeks before receiving my first ball (the Axis) that I purchased from Ebay. it was just after the start of the second Golf war and my parcel was not the top priority at that time (not to mention that French were not very popular at that time in US)

Hope you will like it Rob. I was playing my ASS with rosewood fretboard tonigh it's a great feeling I like it very much

I feel for ya Phatty, but good luck getting the shipping dropped... this is the exact type of "service" that UPS provides all the time. I never use them unless there's no alternative. I've been a rabid UPS hater since 1984 when I had my first bad experience (out of what would become many) with them.

FedEx Ground brought my 20th overnight from Chicago. I didn't even pay for overnight shipping. Make 'N Music said that we're just so close to Chicago that stuff arrives the next day.

Maybe, people should try FedEx Ground.

UPS delivered my Custom Audio Amplifier 3+se from California to Melbourne, one thing, when tracking it, what it says on the screen isn't always right, cause the preamp left California on the Friday, and on the Monday, it said it was at the UPS depot, then arrival date keep changing like crazy, then l get a call from UPS on the Wednesday, and they said it had just arrived in the country, then l got a call from UPS on the Friday, and said it was about to arrive in the country, and they were knocking on my door 6:00 pm Friday night.

It was the same with FEDEX, where it said it was on their computer wasn't really were it was.

But some people have good and bad experiences with both delivery companies, thank god l've only had good experiences, so fair (touch wood).

Scott.

its honestly not the worst thing ever. and pete has always asked how i want my purchases shipped and i always reply "eh, whatever".

my 20th was delayed, fine. that was my first bad experience with UPS ever. then after that 2 more 20ths were delivered to my office at "normal" times (like 1pm or something) so i figured my experience was a fluke.

either way i will get the Luke very soon. eh, so i have to wait out the weekend. sucks, but ill live. im gonna go hunt for a nintendo wii to keep myself occupied :)

im sure the playing the guitar will make me forget about the ups ordeal. i know the 20th did.

im still super stoked to get it. every time ive had a chance to play a luke ive had a tough time putting it down :)

I will never willingly do business with UPS again. They took a check that was made payable to me and somehow deposited it into their account at a bank in another state. Then they gave me the runaround for over a week. It took another week for them to mail me a check to replace the one that they'd deposited.

That's why I drove the 2 hours to Pete's shop for pick up. I know it's not any option for everyone, but when he said my rosewood was in, how do you want it shipped? I said I'll be there Saturday.

Had UPS lean a guitar up against my garage door once. Not even put it next to the front door, under the covered porch and behind the landscaping, but in the driveway leaning against the door. I'm just glad I saw it before I hit the remote, and that my wife (who was home and would have accepted delivery if they actually knocked) didn't open the door from the inside to go somewhere.
