Skipped out of work a little early yesterday (translation=Noon) and took off out of Austin to Philly on Southwest to see the lovely lady in a play. It was a six hour flight that included stops in Nashville and Raleigh, thank god for the iPod. Can't complain too much, it was a free ticket afterall. I have yet to consume a cheesesteak, however I've only been here for 10 hours. I shall take pics...

At the risk of sounding like an idiot, I think the Philly Connection (which is a chain, I know) has a most excellent cheesesteak...and I don't have to go all the way to Philly!

GWDavis,

Actually I'm 6.5 hours away in Pittsburgh. :( Otherwise, I'd be happy to hang out with a fellow forumite.

tommyindelaware is probably closer!

But I do get to Philly once or twice a year. Go to Jim's on South Street for a cheesesteak.

Or, D'Allessandro's.. but I can't remember which part of the City that was..

Also, smallequestrian, if you're in Center City anywhere near the Hard Rock Cafe, check out the nearby Reading Terminal Market. It's like a mini indoor marketplace with fresh produce stands, meats, beer gardens, and even Amish diners!

I wish I was closer to center city. I am in Villanova where my high falutin' girlfriend is in grad school. Hopefully will get to do something cool this weekend, well besides all that animal attraction stuff I mean...

Sorry to hear you're in Villanova.. not that there's anything wrong with Villanova... but you're closer to King of Prussia and it's plethora of shopping malls. So I'd bet you'll end up there rather than doing cool stuff in Center City.

Does an Amish guy with Tourrettes syndrome curse?

Probably very few studies done on this. :p

Keith,

They're probably in no danger of getting such a syndrome, what with the very limited and recycled gene pool...

Apologies to any Amish folks out there. Just kidding.. and hey! What are you doing using electricity?

+1

Now back to your regularly scheduled cheesesteak discussion.

Pats vs. Genos - go back and forth between the two (they're across the street from each other ) and get heckled by the devotees of both :D

Some guys from the sports radio station I listen to down here were up in Philly for the Cowboys/Eagles game on Monday. While they were there they got there recomendation of Pat's vs Geno's and they went with Pat's. They said it was cold an flavorless and it sent all of them to the bathroom within 2 hours. I think I'll go to Genos...
