I just recently ordered a Steve Morse signature guitar, and I am anxiously awaiting its arrival (6 weeks since I ordered this wednesday) . I placed this order without ever playing an EBMM, I am only going on the reviews of yourselves and others I have ran across on the net, and of course Steve Morse on his instructional videos and DVD. It is really cool to hear the comments of how much you guys love your EBMMs, I have played strats and am currently playing a Les Paul, but I am antisipating what kind of tone I will be able to achieve on my EBMM. What will my first experience be behind the EBMM Steve Morse? Anybody?

Though I can't comment on the Steve Morse model, I remember when I got my Albert Lee model. It was used and, while it was clean, it wasn't setup or intonated properly. Once I finished those tasks, it was just unbelievable.

My first EB/MM was a Luke I foolishly sold off a few years ago in search of "vintage vibe"... A few Les Pauls, Strats and Teles later, I picked up an Axis about a year ago and {BAM!}, I'm back in the Music Man fold in a big way, with a stable of Axis's and an Albert Lee. I have every intention of buying a Morse or Silhouette Special next (come this fall)... I guess you could say my experience has been a positive one :D

no Gibson or anything else in the EE/MM price range comes close to this quality of construction and detail. Nothing.

I sold a lower end gibson to help finance my Steve Morse Model. I'm sure that everyone here is sick of me saying see my post of Steve and the Silhouettes . Since then I have never regretted it. I have also tried to find a Gibson I like. I can't find one. Really I tried. This weekend I bought (my first and) the prettiest axis on the planet!!!!!!! It should be here Wednesday or Thursday. Watch for my future post "Precious is mine". Your Steve Morse model is going to be a les paul except its comfortable. It will be a strat with more balls. You will want to learn pices of music that are an order of magnitude more difficult than what you are playing today. Be prepared to hear other guitar players tell you things like, "I can't do that." Exercises for both your fingering and picking hands will be both challanging and rewarding. The pickup switching system is so cool you will think things like, how come my other guitars can't do this? (If you ever play them again) Your Steve Morse guitar is going to be a work horse. You better get use to changing strings and polishing off fingerprints. If you can, please post a picture after you get it.

In the mean time here is another picture from the last time I saw Steve play

I have always had a problem with the "feel" of an instrument and only owned one guitar (a custom Ibanez) which in itself is a one of a kind and wonderful instrument. I saw a Petrucci model in the store one day and tried it out. The feel was unbelievable along with the tone and all the other "goodies" that us guitar players look for. I have since bought another Petrucci model and retired the Ibanez. I agree with one post, I have taken my level of playing to a higher plane and I can't put the guitar down. I love my EBMM's and so shall you. Good luck and play hard!:D

I agree completely!

Usually, when you go into a Guitar Center, the guitar are setup badly and are in need of new strings. THe Gibson, Fenders, Ibanez's, etc. usually play badly. But, the EBMM guitars still feel fantastic even if they do have bad strings. I don't think there's a better neck made.
