Played guitar as a teenager. Fast forward to 37 years old. Neighbor starts playing and convinces me to come to a lesson with him.
Bust out my old guitar, which was a mid 90s Gibson Explorer. Before I know it, I'm taking lessons and playing again.
At this point, the ergonomics are just a big nope for me on the guitar. Begin the search on google with the term "ergonomic". One of the first things I stumble into was the Majesty. I can't believe it because I am the biggest DT fan. I didn't intentionally seek out what the latest was on JP. I entered search terms completely unrelated, and the first thing I stumble into is the beard and his new design.
Fearing my inner DT fan was biasing what I should be buying, I continue the search. I'm looking at the Ibby S series and Jackson Broderick.
Work it out with the wife that I'll be spending some dough soon on a more comfortable guitar. Continue searching, looking at websites, reading forums. A few weeks goes by and I drift into my local GC. I'm looking at their stock, and to my shock, I'm staring directly at a Majesty. It had just come out, and I'm not expecting to see one because hardly anybody had them in yet.
I pick it up - wow, this thing is light! I sit down with it, and it just melts into my body. That's it. I'm getting one.
Wait a few more weeks for a bonus to come through. Go into the local GC and ask for a polar noir Majesty 6. They have one in the Platinum room in Austin. It comes in, I pick it up and never look back. Hoping to add an artisan 7 to the mix eventually.
Ergonomically speaking, the closest I found was the Ibanez S. Majesty beat it out because of fret access and the beard.
