Well last night I cleaned up one of my guitars, and I put a light coat of lemon oil on the fretboard...now since I knew I was going to change the strings, I carefully did it between the strings, pushing them aside, but if some got on, it was ok, cause today I was putting on new strings (seven of them to be exact).
So I proceeded to install a brand new set of EBMM 7 String Reg. Slinky's on my trem equipped guitar. So, wanting to save time I strung the non ball-end through the machine heads in towards the bridge, into the saddle, then I locked it. at the other end, and this is the stupid part, I pulled tight on the slack, wrapping 1/2 way back and tighten the machine head to pitch...are you guys hearing this...and I did it with all seven strings...so then I began to stretch and tune...well not for long cause, ping, pang out came the strings...dang I must have thought I was dealing with good ol' locking tuners. A word of advice, don't listen to me when I try and give out advice
