After having a one hour guitar lesson/general hangout session with him.

He's an incredible guy, totally laid back and nice. He's also an great guitar instructor, considering (according to him) he had never given a lesson before in his life. I was lucky enough to play his main stage guitar, a gold RW neck Luke II with EMG X's, sounded and played incredible. I heard many stories about session work, road antics and his friendship with other amazing guitar players. He showed me some really amazing signature Luke licks and tips on how to pick at 20000 miles per hour, among other things. After we finished I was able to hang out with him and his son, it was an experience I won't soon forget.

Also...I know ALLLLLL about the Luke III :D:D:D:D:D

Congrats on a fabulous hang and lesson.

Now, PM BP and ask him if you can spill the beans. (j/k)

Congrats and it sounds like an amazing day and one you will never forget. I think if it was me I would of skipped the lesson and would of wanted to go hang with him in a strip club lol.

Cool he let you play his #1 plus you had to leave with a few tips that will more than likely come in handy. Must of been wild to see him burning up the fretboard up close at warp speed and that he told you all about the Luke III, cool as they come. Heed the warning if BP wanted to fully spill the beans on the LukeIII already he would of!

Thanks for the responses guys, it really was an incredible experience. I can't stress what a great guy Steve really is, so humble and down to earth.

As the Luke III goes, what I will say is that there are a couple very cool changes that set it distinctly apart from the first two models, but it definitely stays true to the heritage. I'm going to buy one, I've already decided, it's that cool!

+1. the Luke III will be revealed in soon enough. Can you talk about the lesson? Those amazing insights into Luke's style, which is vast to say the least.
I'm very happy you had a great experience.
