haha, At The Drive in is one of my favorit bands... so is the band that formed from them Mars Volta, which flea did bass on the cd.

The other guys are right about how sometimes breaking away from a band can be a great thing. I was in a band for close to 4 years that was doing great back home but at the peak of our band we broke up. We were about to tour and were very close to signing to a label. That left me so heartbroken and down I decided from that moment on I wasn't gonna rely on anyone else for my succes in music again. I looked around at all kinds of music schools and decided on one up here in Saint Paul. I moved here and I'm now in my last semester of college for a degree in Music Performance Bass. It changed my life. I'm in a few bands making good money already and If it wasn't for my band breaking up I'd probably still be in Indiana in that band... not nearly as happy.

Chances are you're on your way to something better and something that will make you much happier... Good Luck bud.

i'm not too worried about the band thign at all. I'm a software engineer and even though I love music and it would be crazy to be able to make a living doing it I'm not counting on it (the odds arent that great). I'm in it for the fun and love of music ... anything extra is just a bonus

Yea man, I find that bands are like finding a job or a girlfriend: it's just really hard to get that right fit/ click. Best of luck . . . and keep playing: always.
