with all the negativity and BS flying around. I'd like to say this:

My new dual humbucking sr4 is incredible.

This bass has restored my love for bass playing, just when i felt like I'd never really be satisfied and was maybe losing my touch and desire for the instrument.

I picked it up..

I am in love with bass all over again! I think everyone needs to play more and more bass!

These HH sr4's have replaced my wal as my staple bass. While you shouldn't hold your breath for my mkI to be on the market ever, don't expect to see pictures of it on stage with me.

My ernie ball stingray has reenergized my inspiration (if you will). Being an audiophile, and a perfectionist, I am constantly in search of the right sound, and had almost threw in the towel.

Now I am persuing a band. I'm playing every chance i get, even my wife is excited for me!

Ernie Ball is the best company in the world. They make the best basses hands down!

This forum has also been a big help. Reading about all you guys playing shows and having some of the same problems as me, it's been very uplifting. While i'm certainly not the biggest name on the board, I like to think that I'm well recieved and wish that the rest of you know that I think of this board as a second family, albeit a dysfunctional, spread-out family that often times doesn't wear enough clothes!

Don't forget how lucky we all are, not because we get the "priviledge" of being on the board, but because a company we love, respect, and admire, offers us the opportunity to communicate with not just other users, but the designers, cs reps, and the president of the freakin company!

This is awesome you guys..

So yes, everyone, play more bass. Pick it up and just play, it doesn't matter how good you are, it's all bass!

did this make sense, or was I ranting.

Definitely not taken as a rant, Joel.

Whenever I get bored with the bass (a rarity), or just frustrated with the local music scene, I take a short sabbatical from the bass and do other things that either keep me out of the house, or get it cleaner.

The way I see it, it's good to take time off even from your favorite things just to inject new life into it.

I'm really GAS'in for one of those puppies! (no offence to your cat ;) ) Also no offence to the forumites in possession of buttercreme HH's (obviously I wish I had one!), but I was so happy to finally see a NON-buttercream HH SR4 fall into someone's lucky hands. That thing ROCKS, and would look sweet next to my black/black/black single H SR4!

Not sure when I'll ever see one here "across the pond" (the shops I've been in either don't know they exist, or are waiting to move what they have before placing new orders), but I'm not overly fussed as it'll give me time to save up. I've also heard on the grape vine, with the recent purchase of my second bass, my NEXT bass apparently NEEDS to be in the shape of an engagement ring (and my life depends on it, ha-ha). We'll see. Might get a third bass as a wedding present out of this deal. :D
